This child belongs to an Afghan family that was scheduled to relocate to the United States. Unfortunately, about twenty days ago, the child suddenly lost mobility in his legs and later in his arms. He was admitted to a well-known private hospital in Quetta, where he received treatment for over ten days, but his condition did not improve.
Two days ago, through the support of the American Embassy and an American NGO, the child was admitted to the Children’s Hospital. After thorough medical evaluation, he was diagnosed with a condition known as GBS (Guillain-Barré Syndrome). Doctors prescribed two doses of IVIG injections, with each dose costing Rs. 210,000.
Yesterday, the child received the first dose, and by the grace of Allah, there was a remarkable improvement in his condition. His arms and legs have begun to function again.
Not only is the child’s family deeply grateful, but the team from the U.S. Embassy also praised the outstanding services provided by Children’s Hospital Quetta.
